Trout twitching

Twitching stalking.

This method has dominated my fishing style for a few seasons to such an extent that I always start with twitching lures and usually it stays like that until the end of fishing.

What is it about this method of fishing? Why has it become so popular?

Most of all, it is effective. Of course, it is not a recipe for catching trout anywhere, anytime and any time of the year. However, it brings a lot of joy to fishing itself.

It is dynamic, you can catch a lot of water quickly, and you don't get bored holding the wobbler for 20 minutes in one place.

First question: for what?

Here you are - below I am throwing you a photo from my favorite pencil case ..

DUO Spearhead Ryuki 60S

Pontoon21 GAGA GOON 45

Pontoon21 CRACK JACK 58

We already have a few lures and we are trying to match the trout.

Just as? This is where the stairs begin. Of course, it all depends on when we try to catch the trout. Is it the beginning of the season or spring, when the fish are healthy and full of energy.

Spring is ahead of us, so let's stick to this period. We have the best time to catch trout ... but not only.

How many times while going fishing have you wondered if you really go for trout?

Maybe on ides / chubs, perches? It's hard to decide because spring opens up great opportunities for us.

We are limited only by the lack of time. But I went for the trout. It is pleasantly warm, the sun breaks through from time to time. We begin.

A few words about the set. I am a minimalist in this topic. One pencil case from JR is enough and max. 10 lures.

A few lures, spinners, pendulums and that's it. Small landing net, glasses and you can attack.

For this scissors, fluorocarbon, a few safety pins. That's all!

I put my favorite twitch on, Ryuki, and off we go.

Color is important and I always choose it according to the conditions at the water's edge. If there is a lamp, I start with the mats. Splashing water, I choose bright colors. The same is true when it is very cloudy.

I already have a wobbler selected at the end of the set. I start fishing for the first interesting place.

Mostly I go upstream and go up the trout from the tail. I will stop at this point for a while ... what gives us fishing downstream?

First of all, we are invisible to the trout. This gives us a huge advantage. These beautiful fish, in clear water, can see exactly what is happening.

In a small river, usually in such a river, they run away before we can make a throw.

So I come from the tail. There are of course a few disadvantages to such fishing, but the increased chance of not scaring the fish is a priority for me.

So we stand below the probable position.

We throw above, of course. Importantly, we try to place the wobbler as quiet as possible on the water surface. A trout observing the area can scare itself away from the very fact that the lure hits the water surface. So we 'put' the wobbler on the water sensitively, softly and as quietly as possible. Preferably well above the position where we expect fish, of course, as long as the conditions allow it.

How to drive?

I try as slowly as possible, of course, as far as the current allows. Every now and then, making jerks, while selecting the slack in the line. Ryuki works beautifully in the fallout, which I always use. Twitching is a dynamic method.

I fish for one spot several times and move on to the next one. Place after place. Of course it is easier for people who know where and how the fish are. My experience shows that they are in the same places every year. Therefore, it is worth remembering where we scared a nice fish, a wobbler broke off or led us away.

Of course, one could write about trout endlessly, it is a river topic. I hope that the above insights will help you discover new possibilities of catching these beautiful and brave fish.

Greetings and see you by the river.
